This can come in a variety of colors and materials. Dial: The face or background of the watch. Display: Method used to convey time. Watches with hands that move is analog while a screen that electronically displays the time is digital. Some watches have both. Movement: The motor that drives the watch. Automatic watches use a weight that moves with the movement of the arm. Automatic watches do not use batteries and only have analog displays. Kinetic movements are similar to automatic except that the motion drives a generator which captures the energy and stores it in a rechargeable battery.
